Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the ZENO desktop application and this website, both provided by Plamen IT. By installing or using ZENO you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

1. Licence to use

ZENO is provided free of charge. You may install and use it on any number of machines you control, for personal or commercial purposes. You may not resell it, redistribute modified builds as though they were official, or remove or obscure the attribution in the application.

2. Your data and your account

There is no account. Everything you create in ZENO belongs to you and stays on your machine. We claim no licence over it, and — as described in the privacy policy — we have no technical means of reading it.

3. Backups and data loss

ZENO includes a backup system, and you are strongly encouraged to use it and to verify your snapshots restore. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data. We are not liable for data loss arising from hardware failure, operating system faults, defects in the software, a forgotten master password, or a backup destination you configured.

Note in particular that the vault master password is not recoverable. Losing it means losing the vault contents. A recovery code is issued when the vault is first created; keep it somewhere safe and separate.

4. No warranty

ZENO is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

ZENO applies well-established cryptography and is built to a documented security model, but no software is perfectly secure. Do not rely on it as your only control for information whose disclosure would cause you serious harm.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plamen IT is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of ZENO — even if advised of the possibility. Because the software is supplied free of charge, our total aggregate liability is limited to zero, save for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Third-party services

If you connect Google Drive or an SFTP server for backups, your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, pricing, or handling of the encrypted data you send them.

7. Updates and availability

We may release updates, change features, or discontinue ZENO at any time and without notice. Because the application runs entirely on your machine, a build you have already installed keeps working regardless.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use ZENO to store or process material that is unlawful in your jurisdiction, nor attempt to use it to gain unauthorised access to systems or data belonging to others.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits any consumer rights you hold under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

10. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the effective date above will change and the updated version will be published on this page. Continuing to use ZENO after that constitutes acceptance.
